Meeting of the Deans’ Council

This morning, Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Al-Zaeem Al-Azhari University held the Deans’ Council Meeting No. (2025/5), chaired by Professor Nasr Al-Din Mohammed Ahmed Sharif, the University President, and attended by the University Vice President, Dr. Ashraf Al-Zein Shagdi; the Dean of Academic Affairs, Professor Ibtihal Gamal Al-Din; the Provost, Dr. Abdelrahman Abdelwahab; along with the deans of faculties and directors of departments.

The Council approved the minutes of the previous meeting and endorsed the plan for the new academic year, which included admission, registration, and interview procedures for the postponed intake (Batch 31) of 2023. It was decided that in-person registration will take place from October 12 to 25, with all procedures facilitated to enable students to complete registration, while classes are scheduled to begin on October 26, 2025.

It was further decided to adopt a flexible teaching system combining face-to-face instruction and online education, with a 50% allocation for each.

The Council also discussed tuition fees and medical examinations for students, deciding that students with Arab and foreign certificates will be treated the same as those with the Sudanese certificate. Moreover, the Council instructed faculties to follow up on students who have discontinued their studies and to activate academic offices and the academic registrar to ensure that results are announced on time.

The meeting also reviewed reports on infrastructure and essential services, with the Provost stressing the need to provide supplies and carry out maintenance at university campuses, in addition to setting a plan to rehabilitate the university clinic.

The Dean of Academic Affairs expressed sincere appreciation for the efforts and dedication of the Academic Affairs staff in Atbara.

In conclusion, the University President commended the efforts and valuable contributions of the Council members, affirming the University’s commitment to advancing academic and administrative performance.
